Detective Inspector Rod Kemp addresses the media in relation to the closure of a major drug operation in the Brisbane Region.
Police have seized a large quantity of dangerous drugs with an estimated street value of over five million dollars after closing operation Lima Rune within South East Queensland.
Detectives have so far arrested 10 people on 81 charges and seized over $300,000 in cash, two handguns and a significant quantity of heroin, cocaine and other illicit drugs.
Detective Inspector Rod Kemp from the Mount Gravatt Crime group said this has been a protracted and exhaustive investigation and the further charges are expected as detectives follow up additional leads.
A 25-year-old Coomera man and two men from Sydney aged 30 and 32 have also been charged with multiple drug offences including drug trafficking.
"It's imperative to get drugs and weapons off the street to ensure the safety of our community and we will continue to run operations of this nature targeting this type of crime," Detective Inspector Kemp said.
